Wintergreen Performing Arts' Summer Music Festival at the Evans Center at Wintergreen Resort. The theme for 2009 is "Appalachian Roots" - a journey up the Appalachian Trail featuring music of composers with roots in areas along the Trail as well as music reflecting the European roots of settlers in Appalachia.   Come to the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains and spend a day, a week or the whole month sampling the Festival’s 100+ events.  We will be delighted to offer you refreshing mountain air, gorgeous views and spectacular encounters with the performing arts  (434) 325-8292

Blackberry Harvest Festival at Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery.  Taste other "true to the fruit" wines and historical honey meads, paired with samples of food and then keep your logo glass. Pick Your Apples at Silver Creek Orchards. Pick Red & Golden Delicious, Jonagold apples. Half-bushel bags provided. Orchard well maintained and accessible. Call to confirm dates and other varieties for picking. Silver Creek Orchards in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Nelson County not far from Crabtree Falls, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Wintergreen Resort. Bring a picnic and enjoy a family outing in the orchards during the peak of our spectacular autumn season.
